The Bachelor of Secondary Education is a four-year course, and is available on both a full time and part time basis
This Bachelor of secondary education course provides initial teacher education for people who wish to work in secondary years (Years 7-12) school classroom settings. The bachelors in education (secondary) course contains four strands: Christian Studies, Education Studies, Discipline Studies (including Discipline Content and Curriculum and Pedagogy) and Professional Experiences.
Students in the Bachelor of Education Secondary course complete two teaching areas of 6 units each.
The maximum time allowed for the completion of the Bachelor of Secondary Education is 10 years. Extensions beyond this time may be approved where extenuating circumstances exist.

Recent secondary education
Applicants who have completed secondary education in the last two years and who are aged 17 years or over, are eligible for admission to this course.
Vocational education and training (VET) study
Applicants with vocational education and training (VET) study of at least a completed Certificate III (with a GPA of at least 4.0, where applicable) and who are aged 17 years or over, are eligible for admission to this course.
Higher education study
Applicants with completed higher education study, and applicants with higher education study of at least one semester (full-time equivalent) who wish to transfer to or within CHC, are eligible for admission to this course.
Work and life experience
Applicants with work and life experience who demonstrate readiness for higher education, including successful completion of the Special Tertiary Admission Test (STAT), are eligible for admission to this course. Additional admission criteria apply.
