Work Placement Duration: 280 hours

Students will undertake 10 weeks (or more) of full time placement in local or on campus productions.

Course Notes

Students will typically complete the package of Certificate III in Live Production & Services, the Certificate IV and Diploma in Live Production & Technical Services for a total duration of 3 years.

Students will continue in the elected streams as chosen in the Certificate III:

- Construction

- Design

- Stage Management

- Technical

Students will work collaboratively in both their studies and productions with TAFE SA dance, acting and other creative arts students.

Included in the Live Production courses and course costs is the unit 'Prepare to Work Safely in the Construction Industry' commonly known as a White Card.

Employment Outcomes

Occupational outcomes may include: Stage Manager; Head Audio/Lighting/Staging Technician; Leading Hand Set Builder/Props Maker/Scenic Artist.

Diploma of Live Production and Technical Services (CUA50415)

This qualification reflects the role of individuals who possess a sound theoretical knowledge base and use specialized, technical or managerial competencies to plan, coordinate, carry out and evaluate technical requirements for productions, events or exhibitions in creative arts industry environments. They have autonomy in carrying out their own work and can be responsible for the output of others within broad parameters. To complete the qualification you are required to complete all 5 core units and 10 elective units.

Credit Transfer

Studying at TAFE SA is one of the easiest pathways towards a University Degree. Credit Transfer is the formal recognition that parts of a TAFE SA course are equivalent in content and level to parts of some University courses.
