The bachelor of arts (BA) degree requires students to complete a minimum of 120 credit hours (a minimum of 40 courses) and generally takes four years to complete. During your studies, you will examine culture, thought, prehistory and history, human interactions, and the social and natural forces that constantly transform our society. You will gain the critical-thinking, analytical and communication skills needed to succeed and adapt in a changing world.Classics explores the cultures and societies of ancient Greece and Rome within the broader context of the ancient Mediterranean. Such study is intrinsically multidisciplinary, encompassing Latin and ancient Greek texts, archaeology, intellectual history, material culture, the influence of Greco-Roman antiquity on later societies, and perspectives on gender, ethnicity, and socio-economic class. Classics is a discipline rooted in the past, yet relevant to the contemporary world and modern institutions. Applicants shall have completed the requirements for a recognized high school diploma or equivalent.

English Language Requirements:

Duolingo English Test (DET) - A minimum score of 115.

IELTS - A minimum overall band score of 6.5, with at least a band 6 in reading and writing. General training results are not acceptable.

TOEFL - For admission to winter (Jan) 2025 and later: A minimum score of 83 on the TOEFL iBT or TOEFL iBT Home Edition, with a minimum score of 20 in reading and writing; For admission to fall (Sept) 2024 and earlier: A minimum score of 79 on the TOEFL iBT or TOEFL iBT Home Edition, with a minimum score of 20 in reading and writing, and not less than 17 in listening and speaking.

Canadian Academic English Language (CAEL) Assessment: For admission to winter (Jan) 2025 and later: A minimum overall score of 60; For admission to fall (Sept) 2024 and earlier: Minimum band scores between 50 and 60 in each of the four skills tested (reading, writing, listening and speaking), with at least two band scores of 60.

PTE Academic: A minimum score of 58 (fall (Sept) 2024); A minimum overall score of 60 ((Jan) 2025 and later).

Cambridge Assessment English: A minimum score of 176 in C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency.

Michigan English Test (MET) - A minimum score of 59 is required on the MELAB.

Application Deadline:

Applications are considered on a rolling basis. Students are encouraged to apply by:

March 1 for fall admission
Oct. 1 for winter admission
Feb. 1 for spring admission
