Chemical engineering uses the basic principles of chemistry, math, physics, biology and economics to design, operate and troubleshoot processes used to manufacture materials, develop energy sources and create new products from the Nano scale to automobiles.

Students develop a strong foundation in basic sciences and have the opportunity to participate in courses aimed at developing problem solving, team, self-assessment and lifelong learning skills
There are three specialization streams: Water-Energy Technologies, Process Systems Engineering, and Polymer Materials and Manufacturing
Co-op and Experiential Learning
Experiential learning provides students with hands-on opportunities beyond the traditional lecture-style format to gain valuable experience.
Engineering Co-op Program
The Engineering Co-op Program is an optional program which provides you with the opportunity to work in real engineering positions before you graduate. The Undergraduate Co-op Program is administered by the Engineering Co-op and Career Services Department (ECCS).

IELTS - International English Language Testing System (Academic): 6.5 Overall with a minimum of 6.0 in each of the four components (Reading, Writing, Speaking, Listening); results valid for 2 years
CAE - Cambridge English Advanced: 190 Overall with minimum score of 180 in each component; valid for 2 years
PTE - Pearson Test of English Academic: 60 Overall with minimum score of 60 in Writing and Speaking; valid for 2 years
CAEL - Canadian Academic English Language: 70 Overall with no component score below 60; valid for 2 years
MELAB - Michigan English Language Assessment Battery: 85 Overall valid for 2 years; Minimum 80 in each of the three required components; Minimum 3 in optional speaking component (Required).
TOEFL - Test of English as a Foreign Language IBT: 86 Overall with a minimum score of 20 in each of the four components (Reading, Writing, Speaking, Listening); valid for 2 years
