There’s no better place to learn about the ocean than on the edge of the Atlantic at Dalhousie University. The Ocean Sciences degree is designed to prepare you to tackle some of society’s most exciting ocean opportunities and pressing environmental challenges.
During your first year you’ll take introductory, foundation-building science courses. In your upper years, you'll gain a broad perspective on the role of ocean sciences in policy, law, and other topics. You’ll also get first-hand experience in many of the exciting technological innovations that are transforming our ability to observe the ocean.
You'll get your feet wet in the lab and field, use world-class research facilities, such as the Aquatron, and take part in field courses at sea, such as the Introduction to Field Oceanography course.

An undergraduate degree in ocean sciences is a strong foundation for pursuing master’s and professional degrees, such as Master of Science (MSc), Master of Marine Management (MMM), Master of Resource and Environmental Management (MREM), Master of Business Administration, law and ocean technology.
