The Nutritional and Nutraceutical Sciences major is concerned with understanding the contribution of food, beverage and nutritional supplement consumption to growth, development of optimal biological function, maintenance of health, and treatment of disease.
If lacking the fundamentals of word processing, spread sheet use and data management, the student should select CIS 1200 as early in the program as possible.
Tackle nutrition-related problems in the food, pharmaceutical and natural health product industries, in Nutritional and Nutraceutical Sciences. Focus on the contribution of dietary intake to the growth and maintenance of biological functions. Understand how nutrients, photochemical, toxins and food processing products affect the body. Work in international health and nutrition organizations, government regulatory bodies and advisory agencies, or pursue related graduate studies.
