O que eu aprenderei?

The Bachelor of Social Work Program prepares students for generalist practice who are knowledgeable of social work practice, theory, policy and research, and who have sufficient competence for entry-level social work positions. The program is based on the principles of social justice, human rights and anti-oppression with an emphasis on understanding the structural roots of social problems. Foundation courses are grounded on critical theoretical frameworks including indigenous worldviews, feminism and anti-racism.

Other English language requirements accepted: TOEFL paper based score of 550; Achieve minimum scores of 4.5 in Reading, 4.5 in Listening, and 4.0 in Writing on the CanTEST (Canadian Test of English for Scholars and Trainees); Achieve a minimum score of 6.5 based upon the Academic Module on the IELTS (International English Language Testing System); Achieve a minimum score of 80 on the MELAB (Michigan English Language Assessment Battery) offered by the University of Michigan; Achieve a minimum grade of C in the University of Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English.Achieve a score of 60 or more in the CAEL (Canadian Academic English Language Assessment); Achieve a minimum of 58% in the Pearson Test of English.Achieve a minimum of 65% in Level 5 of the direct entry English program (also known as Intensive Academic English Program orIAEP), as taught by the English Language Centre of the University of Manitoba.

Para estudantes internacionais

Applicants need to have a Advanced Entry; Applicants must have a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.50 to apply to the Faculty of Social Work.

Applicants must also complete 30 credit hours of University of Manitoba recognized study (University 1) prior to applying.

English Language Requirements:

  • Internet-Based TOEFL: Overall score of 86 (20 in Reading, 20 in Writing, 20 in Listening, 20 in Speaking)
  • IELTS (Academic): 6.5 overall
  • Pearson Test of English: 58

The deadline to apply to the B.S.W program is March 1 of each year, to attend in the fall of that year.
