O que eu aprenderei?

The General Arts & Science (Certificate) program offers a foundational year for students preparing for future study in a wide range of fields. For stu­dents in the Technology stream, core courses in communications, computers, and personal development are enhanced by courses in math, chemistry, and physics. Graduates of the Technology stream are prepared for future study in college programs such as Civil Engineering Technology, Energy Systems Engineering Technician/Technology, Instrumentation and Control Engineering Technician/Technology,and Game Development Technician.

General Arts & Science is a flexible program. Course sequence can change subject to student goals and class availability.

PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS

Want to get into a tech job, but are not sure which one is for you? We get that. The General Arts and Science Technology stream builds the skills needed for a wide array of technical careers, while building those important social skills that employers identify as vital in their industries. While at the college, the student can explore specific technical programs, and through the General Arts and Science coordinator, change direction to focus on courses deemed vital in a specific career.

Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) with the majority of Grade 11 and 12 courses at the C, U or M level including the following prerequisites:

Grade 12 English at the C or U level
Grade 11 Math at the C, U or M level

English language requirements:

TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language): A minimum score of 78 on the internet-based test, or 213 on the computer-based test

IELTS (International English Language Test Service): A minimum score of 6.0 overall, with a minimum score of 5.5 in each section

CAEL (Canadian Adult English Language Assessment): An overall score of 60 is required

EIKEN (Test in Practical English Proficiency): A minimum score of Pre-1 is required

MELAB: A minimum score of 80 is required

PTE: Pearson Test of English Language scores of 55 or higher is required

Cambridge English: Test scores of 173 of higher is required
