O que eu aprenderei?

Cambrian's Pre-Trades/Technology program is a great first step to explore career options and to brush up on your math and science skills.

In this program, you'll learn the basic fundamentals of work safety, measuring instruments, and hand/power tools. Class projects, such as small engine repair, combined with practical courses in technology, math, English, and computers provide a strong foundation to pursue subsequent post-secondary programs.

Successful graduates are eligible to apply to a number of programs offered through Cambrian College's School of Skills Training and the Schools of Engineering Technology and Environmental Studies. The Pre-Trades/Technology program is the preferred designated preparatory program for admission to Cambrian College Trades and Technology programs.

Successful completion of the Pre-Trades/Technology program also provides students who have obtained their Ontario Secondary School Diploma, but lack key English and math prerequisites, to be eligible to apply to other Cambrian College programs that have these requirements.

Program Highlights

  • Receive IHSA Certification training to start becoming workforce ready
  • 1 year – Prepare for subsequent Cambrian programs in the trades/technologies
  • Combination of theory and hands-on work in labs and trades shops
  • Opportunity to develop a personalized career path while increasing technical skills that will improve success in subsequent programs.
