Program Overview

Prepare for junior- to intermediate-level accounting positions with the two-year Accounting Diploma program.

Study a well-rounded curriculum that includes classes in accounting, communications, computing science, economics, finance and marketing.

Graduates gain the skills to secure employment in fields including financial accounting, cost accounting and financial management. Graduates interested in furthering their accounting careers can transfer seamlessly into Douglas College’s Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting program.

Day and evening courses, offered year-round to both part-time and full-time students, provide individuals with flexibility while earning their diploma.

Career Transfer Pathways

Graduates of the Accounting Management Diploma Program are equipped for junior management positions in small to medium-sized firms. Such positions may lead to managing a firm's financial, general or cost accounting areas, accounting information systems, or financial management practices.

Transfer to Professional Accounting Associations

The Accounting Management Diploma Program partially satisfies the entrance requirements of the Chartered Professional Accountant's (CPA) professional education program (PEP). Graduates of the diploma program can continue their education; expand their employment opportunities; and satisfy the entrance requirements of the CPA PEP program by completing their Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting program at Douglas College.

University Transfer

Transfer credit arrangements including two-year block transfers have been arranged with various universities throughout British Columbia and Alberta.

Requisitos de admissão

High school graduation and minimum 17 years of age by the first day of class; and

Minimum overall grade average of “C” or 60% or equivalent in the final year of high school; and

Minimum final grade of “C” or 60% in Grade 11 Mathematics or equivalent for most programs

English Language Proficiency:

B.C. high school English 12: minimum grade C.
TOEFL: iBT minimum score 83.
IELTS (Academic Module): minimum overall score 6.5. For post-degree and post-baccalaureate diploma programs, minimum score of 6.0 for each band.
Successful completion of four courses at ACE Level 2 and three courses at ACE Level 3 at Douglas College.
