O que eu aprenderei?

The UFV Automation and Robotics Technician diploma is designed to build on the knowledge you gained in the Electronics Technician Common Core program at UFV or elsewhere. When you graduate from UFV's Automation and Robotics Technician program, you will have the skills and confidence to build, maintain, calibrate and integrate automation and control systems. You can apply your training in a wide variety of sectors including agriculture, industrial manufacturing, and the oil and gas industry.

Sample topics include:

Technical drafting and AutoCAD applications

Hydraulic and pneumatic control systems

Microprocessors/microcontrollers and data acquisition

Project management and occupational organization

Programmable logic controllers

Wiring, motors, and actuators

Control systems, including hands-on introduction to agricultural and manufacturing control systems

Automation and robotics project

CAREER EXPECTATIONS:

Opportunities for automation and robotics technicians exist in virtually every sector, from agriculture to technology to manufacturing.

UFV's Automation and Robotics program is recognized by the International Electronics Technician Articulation Committee – giving graduates national and global mobility when looking for work or further education. Upon successful completion of UFV’s Electronics Technician Common Core program, students will be able to transfer to other post-secondary institutions offering specialty programs.

Option 1: Successful completion of the Electronics Technician certificate (or equivalent, by permission of the Electronics department).

Option 2: Successful completion of other relevant post-secondary education (such as pre-electrical engineering, electrical engineering or physics courses)

English Language Requirement:

  • IELTS (Academic) - score of 6.5 or higher with a minimum band score of 6.0
  • TOEFL - score of 88 or higher (iBT) with no section below 20
  • CAEL - score of 70
  • PTE - score of 61 with 60 in writing
  • MELAB - score of 85
  • DET (Duolingo English Test) - 110
