Overview

Develop essential research skills, information management, analysis, interpretation, and communication skills.

Apply a critical, interdisciplinary perspective on contemporary health issues in human development, psychology, sociology, kinesiology, gerontology, public health, medicine, or related health fields.

Explore one of three pathways that lead you to graduation: graduate with an MA in the research thesis option or major paper option, or pursue the M.Sc. thesis option.

A research-intensive program, available on a full-time or part-time basis.

Program Requirements

As an Interdisciplinary Health student, there are three pathways that can take you towards graduating: Two lead to an M.A. in Interdisciplinary Health, and one leads to an M.Sc in Interdisciplinary Health. The program coordinators can help in deciding which path best suits your career goals.

Career Opportunities

Begin a career or further pursue post-graduate studies in human development, psychology, sociology, kinesiology, gerontology, public health, medicine, or related health fields.

The Interdisciplinary Health program will be offer via REMOTE SYNCHRONOUS DELIVERY (e.g., Live classes via Zoom) starting in September 2022.

Students accepted into the program require an Honours Bachelor Degree in Psychology, Human Kinetics, Sociology, or another related field, with an overall average of at least B+ (75%).

Students seeking to pursue the M.Sc. option are required to possess a B.Sc. degree in Psychology, Human Kinetics, Sociology, or another related field (e.g., nursing or biology), with an overall average of at least B+ (75%).

English language requirements:

Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL -iBT): 88 Overall

Computer-based TOEFL (CBT) - Test of English as a Foreign Language: 230 overall

IELTS Academic - International English Language Testing System: 6.5 overall (No band lower than 6.0)

Cambridge Assessment English: C1 Advanced or C2 Proficiency with a Cambridge Score of 176 or more

CAEL - Canadian Academic English Language Assessment: 70 overall (No part below 60)

Canadian Test of English for Scholars and Trainees – CanTEST: 4.5 overall (No part below 4)

PTE Academic - Pearson Test of English: 60 Overall

Duolingo English Test: Minimum Score: 110
