In this program, you’ll pursue mathematics research in the broad areas of applied, discrete, or pure math, combined with social science or education topics. Your education will be supplemented by coursework and regular seminars.
The outcome of your studies will be either a thesis that will advance the field of mathematics, or a non-thesis-based project that illustrates the use of mathematics in social science or education. You’ll defend this work in an oral examination that will prove your mastery of your topic.
