Program Overview
Public health education at Queen’s puts the spotlight on what works in public health.
The Queen’s University Master of Public Health is a professional, course-based degree that educates, equips and inspires students to take Evidence-Informed Action for Public Health.
The degree is 16 consecutive months in duration, attracting applicants from a range of disciplines.
A 12-month accelerated program is available for candidates with at least two years of cumulative paid work experience in health care, public health or a related field.
Opportunities
We support students on their path of continuing professional development. Our graduates hold positions as health planners, research analysts, health promoters, evaluators and project managers in health units, government agencies, hospitals, community organizations and research institutes across the country and beyond.
Method of Completion
The 16 month MPH is comprised of 9 courses (6 mandatory cores and 3 elective), a 400 hour practicum placement, and 36 hours of public health skills workshops.

Students must have Bachelor Degree in any discipline with a minimum 75%.
English language requirements
International students from a non-English speaking university or students with English as a second language will require a minimum TOEFL score of 600 (paper) or minimum TOEFL iBT scores of: writing (24/30); speaking (22/30); reading (22/30); listening (20/30); for a total of 88/120. Please note applicants must have the minimum score in each test as well as the minimum overall score. The TOEFL institution code is 0949 and the department code is 50.
