Overview
Learn practical skills in class and in the beautiful northern Ontario landscape. This program will give you the skills you need to work in the ever-expanding ecotourism industry. You will obtain the skills required to work in outdoor-based tourism organizations or to operate your own unique business. Develop leadership skills while engaging in a number of activities. Program highlights include camping skills, nature identification, and search and rescue techniques. You can also obtain additional certifications including a nationally-recognized GPS training course. All classes are available onsite or online, and are recorded for future playback.

Certification/Accreditation
Students have the opportunity to obtain numerous industry certifications outside of the classroom such as: Canoe Tripping Level 1, Advanced Wilderness First Aid, Standard Hike Leader and Chain Saw Operator.

Learning outcomes represent culminating demonstrations of learning and achievement. In addition, learning outcomes are interrelated and cannot be viewed in isolation of one another. If English is not your first language you must provide proof of English competency. You must have a minimum overall band score of 5.5 on the Academic International English Language Testing System (IELTS), or equivalent accepted English language proficiency test to be admitted to a postsecondary program at the college. Notwithstanding the above, the English proficiency standards required to obtain Study Permits and Temporary Resident Visas from Canadian Embassies vary around the world. The higher English language proficiency standard will apply.
