O que eu aprenderei?

The Ph.D. Program provides a holistic and interdisciplinary approach to prepare students to pursue independent research aimed at analyzing and resolving the complex issues facing the global milieu of peace and conflict using a variety of conflict resolution, social justice and peace studies tools, processes, and methods.

The program is supervised by the Joint Discipline Committee (JDC), consisting of faculty members of the University of Manitoba and the University of Winnipeg. Courses and thesis direction are offered at both institutions, and students completing the program may elect to receive their degrees from both of the participate.

The Ph.D. program consists of coursework, successful completion of a candidacy examination and successful defense of a doctoral thesis.

Applicants to the Ph.D. program require a Master's degree from a recognized institution.

English Language Requirements:

  • TOEFL - Achieve a minimum Internet-based -iBT (86; minimum score of 20 in each of reading, writing, listening and speaking categories)
  • IELTS - Achieve a minimum score of 6.5 in the Academic Module
  • PTE Academic - minimum 61 overall
