The aviation industry is a huge and diverse one, employing engineers across multiple disciplines. The aerospace engineering degree prepares students for a career in the industry by providing knowledge on how aircraft are designed, constructed, powered, used, and controlled for safe operation. The students also develop skills in management, airworthiness and aviation regulations through a number of additional courses. As an aerospace engineer, you could work in design and manufacture of civil and military aircraft. You could also work in technical departments of airlines.

The BEng Aerospace Engineering course equips graduates with core scientific and engineering knowledge, practical laboratory skills, team working, problem solving and other transferable skills needed to pursue careers as professional aerospace engineers, and a diverse range of other career options in the aviation industry.

The degree is offered as a three of four-year programme depending on your entry qualification.
For domestic students, the course structure follows the Chinese higher education system and is based on a four-year programme.
For international students, with relevant qualifications, the course structure follows the UK higher education system and is based on a three-year programme.
Students have the option to study the whole course in China (3+0 or 4+0) or spend their last two years at The University of Nottingham, UK (1+2 or 2+2).

Entry requirements for our courses vary depending on your school qualifications, which determine your entry into either the preliminary year (year one) or qualifying year (year two).
