OVERVIEW

This research-intensive programme develops advanced skills, education and training in the areas of artificial intelligence research, including pattern recognition, computer vision, machine intelligence, and intelligent systems.

With a strong emphasis on hands-on experience and practical skills development, you will gain in-depth knowledge and understanding of topics such as advanced pattern recognition, deep learning in computer vision, image and video processing, and reinforcement learning.

After successfully completing all taught modules, students are required to carry out a one-year-long research project.

Entry requirements vary depending on the degree programme you choose, with different undergraduate backgrounds. The minimum entry requirements for all masters programmes is a UK upper second class hours (2:1) or equivalent. English language requirements: If you have not studied at degree level in English, you will need to provide evidence of your level of English proficiency. If English is not your first language, but you are following a full-time degree programme delivered wholly in English, you will normally be exempt from the English language requirements. Individual cases will be considered on their own merit. You may be required to attend an interview or take a test to further demonstrate your English proficiency.

An undergraduate degree (UK 2:1 or equivalent) in a relevant field such as telecommunication engineering, electronic science and technology, electrical engineering, and computer science and technology.

English Language Requirements

If English is not your native language or if you have not studied in English at degree level, you will need to provide evidence of your English proficiency. You should normally possess one of the following qualifications:

  • IELTS: 6.0 (minimum of 5.0 in all sections)
  • TOEFL iBT: 80
