This double degree is designed to increase student’s knowledge, skills and understanding in Mechanical Engineering principles and fundamental knowledge of business studies. In addition to the Mechanical Engineering foundation studies, technical studies, design and projects, and management and business studies, students under this course are required to choose one of the two approved business majors (Finance or Management). Business studies start in the third year of the program.

Course structure
For the completion, students are required to complete a total of 40 units (500 credit points) consisting of:
12 Engineering core units of study (150 credit points)
16 units of study from Mechanical Major (200 credit points)
4 Business core units of study (50 credit points)
8 Finance OR Management units of study (100 credits points)
1 compulsory, not-for-credit units (0 credit points)
Career opportunities
Graduates of the double-degree program may select paths from either Engineering or Commerce, or both discipline areas. In general, they have more options in securing a job when compared to those graduated with single degree.
Graduates are eligible to register as Graduate Engineers with Board of Engineering Malaysia (BEM) and to apply for graduate membership with Engineers Australia (EA).
