The Bachelor of Science (Hons) Biotechnology is designed to develop students with a strong foundation of knowledge and practical skills that are sought after in the changing world of biotechnology.
This programme provides an understanding of, and the practical skills behind the use of biologically derived materials for a multitude of applications. Such materials include microorganisms (e.g. bacteria, yeast, algae) and materials derived from them and other biological sources (e.g. enzymes, protein, DNA). These applications focus on three core areas, namely agriculture productions, industrial manufacturing, and human health.
Industrial Training and Undergraduate Project which link students directly to the industry and leading-edge research are some of the added features of this programme, giving it a practical hands-on approach.

Pass in sijil pelajaran malaysia (SPM) or equivalent; and
Sijil tinggi persekolahan malaysia (STPM) with minimum two (2) principal passes (c), including one (1) science subject; or
A-level with minimum two(2) principal passes (e), including one (1) science subject; or
Unified examination certificate (UEC) with grade b4 in five (5) subjects including two (2) science subjects; or
Pass in foundation in science; or
Pass in diploma (level 4 MQF) in the relevant field with minimum CGPA of 2.00; or
Other recognized equivalent qualification.
Achieve a minimum score of 5.0 in International English Language Testing System (IELTS) OR Band 3 in Malaysian University English Test (MUET) OR its equivalent.
