Smart systems are the future so get involved now! Smart Systems Engineering is an exciting master's programme that teaches students to build and develop smart systems that are able to interact with their environment. Students will be able to move beyond simply generating data. They will actually be implementing intelligence at the point of data generation to enable smart interventions in response to changes in the environment. This master's programme will challenge you to always look beyond what is known to be possible.

You will work closely with fellow master students from all over the world, forming a tight, committed community. A dedicated staff of experienced lecturers and professionals in their field are ready to push you ahead: teaching you new skills and supporting and stimulating you to make the most of your time at our institute and acquiring the skills of a future engineer.

Healthcare, Energy and high-tech systems and materials (HTSM) are three major areas where the innovative application of smart sensors has become increasingly relevant. These developments provide a myriad of opportunities for the next generation of smart sensor specialists. Just think of developing new products and services that involve smart sensor innovations for medical devices, renewable energy systems, domotics or technical smart sensor applications. The scientific research environment is also a great place to put your master skills into practice. Here you will find the opportunity to work alongside scientists who focus on high tech research projects, such as seismic monitoring systems.

Para estudantes internacionais

Direct admittance for students with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechatronics, Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Sensor Technology or Technical IT from an university in the Netherlands, another European Union member state/non-EU university or equivalent educational programme with sufficient similar content (will be assessed based on the detailed grade list).

In some cases, students might be required to do a special bridging programme, before they can be admitted.

The English proficiency level should be proven with an IELTS score with a minimal score of 6.5, with no sub-score below 6.0/TOEFL ibt score of 90/ or equivalents in Cambridge ESOL/TOEIC.
