Research-focused
This programme is offered by the Department of Child, Family, and Education Studies, which is part of Utrecht University’s Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences. The programme is based in the research priority area of Education and Learning, which is embedded in local, national, and international research networks.
International
The presence of students from multiple countries provides you with opportunities to explore issues in education and learning within a broader international perspective. In addition, researchers and scholars from abroad are invited for guest lectures and research seminars. We encourage all students to participate in international research seminars or to complete an internship abroad.

Applicants should hold an academic Bachelor’s degree (BA of BSc) that equals the level of the Dutch equivalent in an area that is relevant for the programme such as education, educational or cognitive psychology, learning sciences, knowledge engineering, or in a specific discipline with interest in pedagogical content knowledge or pedagogy. Equivalency will be decided by the programme's Admissions Committee.
Grade Point Average
Students with a GPA of 3.4 (or the Dutch equivalent of 7.5) or higher are eligable. Students with a GPA between 3.0 and 3.4 (Dutch equivalent: 7 or better) may be eligible and can compensate by other capacities they possess, according to the programme’s Admissions Committee.
Other English language requirements: Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English, at least a B grade; Cambridge Certificate of Proficiency in English, at least a C grade.
