The Bachelor of Arts prepares you for a huge range of careers, and you can build your degree in a way that suits you – study a single or a double major, select from a wide range of minors or add elective papers from another area of study. Study conflict resolution and learn to identify causes of conflict, and develop practical negotiation, mediation and facilitation skills.

Conflict resolution is an essential skill for many fields. Wherever there are people, companies or states, there are differences. Conflict resolution explores how to overcome these differences and reach a peaceful settlement at an interpersonal, community, organisational and international level.
You learn through case studies, role play scenarios and visits from guest speakers who share their views on current issues and approaches. Our passionate lecturers draw from international experiences and include best practice models.

Applicants must have their High School Diploma below this may be considered on a case by case basis. English Language Requirements: IELTS score 6.0 overall with all bands 5.5 or higher; TOEFL iBT score 80; Minimum overall score of 52 in CAE prior to 2015 or a score of 169 in CAE from 2015; or a score of 50 in Pearson (PTE); or B/B+ in Certificate in English for Academic Study (CertEAS); or grade B in GIE.

All applicants need to meet AUT’s minimum entry requirements qualification equivalent to New Zealand year 13 or University Entrance.

Useful New Zealand school subjects

All subjects are useful, in particular Art History, Classical Studies, English, Geography, History, Media Studies and other languages.
