If you achieve First or Second Class First Division Honours in your BSc(Hons), you’ll be eligible for direct entry to a PhD. Postgraduate study in Applied Mathematics focuses on mathematical and computational models to formulate and solve real-world problems from a variety of areas within science and technology. From analysing the most efficient way to schedule airline routes between cities, to the effects and safety of new drugs, applied maths is a good foundation to apply alongside many other sciences. You will learn how to build mathematical models, how to formulate mathematical ideas for useful modeling, alongside learning about the solutions of models.The study of Medical Physics and Imaging Technology provides a very complex toolkit to support your ability to work in the biomedical industries, engage in the medical physics training or pursue a research career in biomedical optics. You will study Medical Science courses that examine the ways in which host immune mechanisms control infection, advanced biomedical imaging studies of concepts related to the biology of cancer, and Physics courses that explore filtering and digital signal processing and advanced electromagnetism.
