O que eu aprenderei?

The programme provides a solid base in the chemistry and physics of organic materials, as well as their connection to real-life applications. A broad range of courses and specialisations allows students to customise their own degree profile enabling the focus on individual areas of interest.

Students will learn of design, synthesis, characterization, production and development of polymeric materials throughout the duration of the degree programme. The material group includes plastics, rubber, composites, paper, wood and other biological materials; students will be able to handle questions pertaining to the choice of raw materials (renewable versus fossil), and the choice of production processes, material combinations and manufacturing methods to achieve the desired characteristics in the finished product. Great emphasis is placed on environmental issues, such as environmentally-friendly material production and development of sustainable materials.

Study at two Nordic universities

The Master’s programme in Polymer Technology is collaboration between five leading technical universities in the Nordic countries (Nordic Five Tech). The programme gives you a unique opportunity to tailor your degree based on your academic interests.

You will get to study at two of the partner universities in different countries (it is not possible to study at both Chalmers and KTH), spending one year at each, and you will graduate with a double master’s degree. The universities participating in the Master's in Polymer Technology are:

  • Chalmers University of Technology, Sweden
  • Aalto University, Finland
  • Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU), Norway
  • Technical University of Denmark (DTU), Denmark
  • The Royal Institute of Technology (KTH), Sweden

Chalmers University of Technology participates in the following tracks:

  • Advanced materials
  • Biomaterials science
  • Industrial processes
  • Polymer engineering.

The coordinator of the Nordic Master in Polymer Technology is The Royal Institute of Technology (KTH).
