Communication is essential to human beings. It is key in meeting the challenges of a society that is increasingly globalized, digitalized and specialized.

The programme Master in Communication empowers you to grow as an independent, critical researcher and skilled professional. As a student, you learn to navigate the intricate dimensions of intercultural, organizational and digital communication as well as to manage the communicative interactions between people, organizations and cultures.


What are current topics, trends and challenges in the field of communication? Which theoretical approaches and research methods enable us to understand and critically reflect upon them? The programme Master in Communication supports you to acquire advanced knowledge and skills in three areas of specialization:

intercultural communication
organizational communication
digital communication

The programme is distinguished by interdisciplinarity, a research and practice orientation as well as interculturality. Insights and perspectives from disciplines including, but not limited to, media and communication studies, linguistics, organization and management research, informatics, and sociology enable you to develop a holistic understanding of communication as a vibrant field of research. Problem-based learning approaches in an intercultural learning environment strengthen your ability to analyze and solve complex communication challenges and foster your personal development. Cases closely related to business and society as well as training in rhetoric and argumentation allow you to develop practical communication skills.
