Agricultural scientists make a valuable contribution to ensuring reliable, ecological, economical and socially sustainable human nutrition. Here they strive to optimize the use of limited natural resources

Structure

There are three specializations to choose from in the Master’s degree programme:

Agricultural Economics takes an in-depth look at economic and social aspects in the use of natural resources
Animal Sciences covers basic knowledge in subjects such as genetics, nutrition, physiology and animal husbandry
Plant Sciences deals with issues of plant production, plant protection and genetics.

The specialization is enhanced by specific supplementary subjects and general electives which may be selected from the entire ETH and University of Zurich offering. A compulsory professional internship establishes the connection between theory and practice and enables students to gain valuable interpersonal and soft skills. The six-month Master’s thesis completes the programme.

To be eligible for admission to a Master's degree programme at ETH Zurich you need to have a high-quality Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 180 ECTS or an equivalent first academic degree from an internationally recognized university. Other English language requirements: Cambridge Proficiency (CPE) - Required minimum C1 (grade C); required minimum C2 (grade C); Cambridge Advanced (CAE) - Required minimum C1 (grade B); CAE not recognized as level C2.

Para estudantes internacionais

The students must satisfy the following criteria:

Bachelor's degree or equivalent first degree from an internationally recognised university
The Bachelor's degree is based on at least three years of study (full-time equivalent) or 180 credits ECTS (European credit transfer system), respectively. 1 credit ECTS corresponds to a workload of 25-30 hours.
The Bachelor's degree qualifies the holder to enter, without additional requirements, Master's degree programs at a university within the education system where the Bachelor's degree was acquired.
