This programme strikes a perfect balance between theoretical knowledge and practical application, ensuring you build a strong foundation in computational skills across various disciplines. In your first year, you will establish a solid understanding of computer science fundamentals, including computer platforms and designing solutions for real business challenges. As you progress into the second year, you will explore deeper into areas such as computer networks, programming, data storage, and analysis, learning to create advanced software solutions. In the final year, youll have the opportunity to specialise in cutting-edge topics like artificial intelligence (AI), data science, and cybersecurity. Alongside these specialised subjects, you will work on industry-related projects, refining the skills and expertise that will fully prepare you for your future career.

This course also includes the opportunity for you to take a sandwich year between your second and third year of study. This is a year-long period of paid industrial training in the UK where you will hone your expertise, try out a potential career path, get relevant workplace experience that is valued by many.

The majority of your learning will take place at our Lancaster campus, where you will benefit from a dynamic academic environment. Additionally, you will have valuable opportunities to engage with employer networks and participate in live projects through our Enrichment Days at our new Barrow campus.
