O que eu aprenderei?

Italian was one of the first language departments created at Kent and we are proud to offer a programme that gives you the opportunity to learn Italian to a high standard and gain real insight into Italian culture, literature and society. The majority of the Italian teaching staff are native speakers and we regularly host Italian exchange students, giving you the opportunity to immerse yourself in the language. This is supplemented by excellent technical facilities, including three satellite TV channels, videos, DVDs and computer-assisted language learning. Language is fundamental to everything we do: it helps us communicate ideas, express our feelings, persuade, and present ourselves to different audiences. While studying English Language and Linguistics as a second subject, you explore both the structure of language and its relationship with culture, society, and the mind. A broad choice of theoretical topics encompasses such areas as syntax, phonetics and phonology, morphology.

Requisitos de admissão

Para estudantes do(s)/da Brasil

If you have completed 12 years of primary and secondary education in Brazil and wish to enrol on a BSc or BA programme, you will normally be required to complete a foundation year, unless you have taken the International Baccalaureate or A Levels. For entry to our Foundation programme you should have good school results, probably around 80%. For entry to year 1 of our undergraduate degree programmes, we usually require students from Brazil to have already successfully completed a suitable foundation programme at Kent or another recognised institution. Offer levels vary depending on the course and some courses may state specific required subjects. 'Maths GCSE' may be required which means that students must achieve high scores in maths. Students may also gain entry to year 1 of our undergraduate degree programmes if they have successfully completed 1 or 2 years of an undergraduate degree with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 (or equivalent) and seek to transfer to Kent for the remainder of their degree. The University will consider students for 2nd year entry on an individual basis. If you are studying, or have studied, the International Baccalaureate, European Baccalaureate, or A levels, US qualifications such as SATs, ACTs, Advanced Placement tests or an Associate Degree will also be considered. We have a standard International Baccalaureate Diploma offer of 34 points across all programmes of study including any specific subjects at higher or standard level required by the particular degree programme. Students need to have an IELTS score of 6.5 overall (with a minimum of 6.0 in R&W; 5.5 in S&L).
