O que eu aprenderei?

This is a four year degree programme with an integrated foundation year. You will follow the Law, Criminology and Politics foundation year pathway which consists of 6 core modules. If you successfully pass the foundation year you can progress to Law LLB with Sports Business or any of our other Law, Criminology or Politics three year degree programmes. If you're interested in becoming a barrister or solicitor, or pursuing a career in commerce or government, our Law LLB with Politics degree will give you the foundation you need to be successful. This programme is designed for those interested in solving, understanding and preventing crimes.Studying law teaches you how to construct arguments, think critically, process large amounts of data and challenge policy, whilst studying Politics gives students an insight and context in how those laws were passed and why. These subjects are perfect companions.Politics are a central element of human society where our most pressing issues and concerns are addressed. Through political processes, institutions and ideas, complex, diverse modern cultures identify, share and contest values and make decisions about rules to live by and about how goods will be distributed nationally and internationally. Political scientist Harold Lasswell aptly described politics as the process of answering the question: "Who gets What, When, How?" In 2010 14% of MPs were former lawyers. All St. Mary’s LLB (Hons) degrees are Qualifying Law Degrees, and are recognised for professional purposes by the Law Society, the Bar Council of England and Wales, and the Law Society of Ireland for professional purposes. The degree's focus on practical (as well as theoretical) teaching means you can develop the analytical and critical skills essential for formulating legal arguments. You'll also have the opportunity to study a range of specialist subjects that are relevant to your own aspirations. With a wide range of option modules - including work-based learning placements - and a diverse variety of assessment methods, such as simulated negotiation exercises and delivering presentations, you will learn through experiencing the law, not just through exams.
