O que eu aprenderei?

Developing the legal skills and knowledge needed for a successful law career. Many leading law firms exclusively send their trainee solicitors to study the LPC with us and we are the preferred choice for over 150 organisations. We work with firms across the legal profession to develop the best possible education for future solicitors, enhancing your employability through dedicated support and placement opportunities. So you can be confident that our LPC will help you launch a successful legal career.

Qualification you'll receive

Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice (awarded by BPP University)

The Legal Practice Course, also known as the LPC, is a postgraduate course that is normally studied after an undergraduate degree or law conversion course. If you are looking to become a solicitor, our LPC offers the practical knowledge and commercial awareness to succeed in practice. We focus on the skills and the knowledge you need to secure a training contract. Your learning is built around simulated client portfolios to build the legal skills that employers and recruiters are looking for. Learn from qualified lawyers who can help to shape your career, with links to law firms and in-house teams at every level.

How you will learn

Whether you’re studying with us online, or in-centre, you’ll develop the skills and knowledge for practice and your assessments through various learning methods, and receive the same high-quality teaching and expertise, regardless of your mode of study.

You will be assessed through a range of methods, including written and oral examinations. We do not have a closed book policy and as such there are no closed book assessments on the LPC or LLM Legal Practice (Solicitors). You are permitted to take statute books, codes of practice and copies of procedure rules into all LPC exams. The majority of legal knowledge required for passing the LPC comes from these permitted sources, as opposed to case law. You can focus your revision on when and how to apply law, rather than memorising it, which most accurately reflects what it is like in practice.

Coursework is in the form of essays, reports or case studies, while group or individual presentations may be required to assess other competencies.

BPP University offers flexibility in how these assessments are undertaken, and the programmes will utilise online tools where available to deliver assessments. Those who opt for face-to-face learning can choose between online digital assessments or in-person handwritten assessments, either in centre or possibly at an external venue. Those who opt for online learning will take online assessments.
