History - This is the only Master-level programme in History focusing on the study of Asia, the Middle East and Africa in the UK, and can therefore offer an unrivalled breadth of courses on the history of these regions. The programme provides a sound training in the historical sciences. It can also be taken with an intensive language pathway over two years, therefore making this programme unique in Europe. The two-year intensive language pathway is directed at students who want to engage with Asia, Africa and the Near and Middle East in a professional as well as academic way, as the intensive language course would enable them to reach a near proficient knowledge of the language.

Arabic - The two-year language pathway is directed at students who want to engage with the Arab Middle East in a professional as well as academic way, as the intensive pathways will enable them to develop a serious competency in Arabic, and achieve an advanced professional level depending on their starting knowledge of the language.

Students need to have Bacharel/Bacharelado, Licenciado or Titulo Profissional with predicted or actual grades of Média Superior or 7/10.

Para estudantes internacionais

We will consider all applications with 2:ii (or international equivalent) or higher. In addition to degree classification we take into account other elements of the application including supporting statement and references. Students whose first language is not English need to have IELTS with 6.5 overall with 6.5 in writing and speaking and 6.0 in reading and listening. TOEFL IBT - 100 overall with 23 in writing and speaking and 21 in reading and listening.
