O que eu aprenderei?

We're delighted to launch our new MEng (Hons) Engineering (International) degree programme for 2026 entry. Our unique four-year programme continues to blend rigorous academic learning with project work on next-generation Dyson technology, but has evolved to include a life-changing 12-month international experience.

Studying for an MEng at the Dyson Institute gives you the unique opportunity to study for your degree at the centre of a global leader in design innovation. You’ll learn engineering fundamentals from leading academics and put them into practice developing future Dyson products.

Learning Outcomes:

The programme is a combination of Master’s level learning and application in a global technology company. On successful completion of the programme, graduates will be able to:

  • Design, develop, and deliver innovative engineering processes, systems, services and/or products by integrating appropriate theoretical and practical methods, with an emphasis on systems thinking and multidisciplinary collaboration.
  • Design and conduct experiments, including computational modelling and simulation, to acquire and interpret data for solving complex, real-world international engineering problems and validating innovative solutions.
  • Critically analyse and map interactions between components, systems, and stakeholders within engineering products or processes to evaluate performance, user impact, and opportunities for optimisation.
  • Provide technical and project leadership through planning, managing, and delivering projects, including effective team collaboration, risk and vendor management, and financial awareness in a global engineering context.
  • Communicate complex engineering concepts and proposals effectively, adapting storytelling methods, and data visualisation for diverse stakeholders and audiences across technical and non-technical backgrounds.

We require, as standard, that you hold a minimum of GCSE grade C/4, or equivalent qualification, in English and Mathematics.

We also require you to be predicted or have achieved the Level 3 academic entry requirements listed below.

A Level: AAB to include A in Mathematics, A in a STEM subject and B in any other subject.

Access to HE Diploma:

The Access to HE Diploma in Engineering, Engineering Science, Mathematics and Engineering, Science, or Science and Engineering.

The 45 graded Level 3 credits must include:

  • at least 30 credits at Distinction and 15 at Merit or above; and
  • at least 12 credits at Distinction from Mathematics units; and
  • at least 12 at Distinction from another STEM subject units.

BTEC (2016 onwards):

BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Engineering at DDM, alongside grade A in A Level Maths.

BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Engineering at DD, alongside grade A in A-level Maths.

BTEC Level 3 National Foundation Diploma in Engineering at Distinction, alongside two A-levels, including grade A in Maths and A in a STEM subject.

BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate in place of one A-level at Distinction, alongside two A-levels, including grade A in Maths and A in a STEM subject.

International Baccalaureate:

34 points overall with 17 at Higher Level including 6, 6 (in any order) at Higher Level in Mathematics and a STEM subject.

Scottish Highers:

Advanced Higher - AA in Mathematics and a STEM subject, and Standard Higher – AABBB (AAB must be achieved within one year, by the end of S5).
