This course is for those who want to gain a good working knowledge of cookery and catering skills. This course is ideally suited to people wishing to gain a good working knowledge of European /international cooking and catering skills. The course is designed to not affect any benefits. Financial support may be available dependent on individual circumstances. You will study 4 mandatory units:Maintenance of a safe, hygienic and secure working environment, Working effectively as part of a hospitality team, Maintain food safely when storing, preparing and cooking food, Maintain, handle and clean knives.

The course is mostly practical, your course evidence will be collected as you study. The course is friendly with flexible times to suit childcare and people from different backgrounds are encouraged to join. The Assessment will take place throughout the course with practical assessments and observations. On completion students can progress to NVQ 3 or VRQ 3. They can seek employment within the catering industry in a variety of settings.
