**Why study Professional Policing (Accelerated Pre Join) at Liverpool John Moores University?**- This is a two year accelerated degree in Professional Policing- The programme develops your knowledge and qualifies you to apply to the police service under one of the three designated entry routes- The programme covers a wide range of subjects including law, policing and investigation, evidence based practice and research skills, which are essential for a career in policing- You will be taught in the Liverpool Centre for Advanced Policing Studies in the Mount Pleasant Campus**About your course**Liverpool Centre for Advanced Policing is a pioneering research centre for interdisciplinary law enforcement, and is licensed by the College of Policing to deliver degree programmes included in the Police Education Qualification Framework.This is a two year accelerated degree in Professional Policing, which has been licensed by the College of Policing, the professional Statutory and Regulatory Body (PSRB) for policing. Since 2020, there are three entry routes into policing - this degree in Professional Policing is the requisite qualification for one of those routes.The programme covers a wide-ranging areas of law, social science, policy and research skills essential to a policing career. You will be taught in the Liverpool Centre for Advanced Policing Studies by lecturers with academic and professional backgrounds in policing.The programme will start in September with semesters in the Autumn, Spring and Summer. Lectures and seminars during the Autumn and Spring semesters will be delivered on the Mount Pleasant Campus, while the summer semester will be delivered in an online, distance learning format.This accelerated degree programme is delivered in Autumn, Spring and Summer semesters and will equip graduates with the required level of professional knowledge and understanding to begin their policing career. It will also put policing in the wider context of society.In addition to lectures, workshops and seminars there will be realistic simulated exercises and role- plays. The programme is delivered by academic staff and practitioner academics. These Practitioner Academics are academically qualified, former practitioners of all ranks and roles. All staff are experienced in a wide range of subject areas and specialisms.Throughout the programme there is a mentoring scheme that supports students in their academic, professional and personal development.
