Our Psychology degree is accredited by the British Psychological Society (BPS). This course is your chance to explore a diverse field of scientific study as part of our vibrant academic community. You will conduct research in different areas of psychology within our dedicated laboratories.92%of Psychology, students were satisfied with their course. (National Student Survey 2020)In years 1 and 2 you will study the core areas of psychological science while practising your research skills in the laboratories every week. The research our academic staff carry out informs your learning. Some of these topics include:Cognitive neuroscience of language and memorySocial interaction and political psychologyChildren's cognitive development, including literacy, tool innovation, and imaginationBody image and bullyingMental health and neurodiversity.In year 3 you can tailor your degree to your interests and ambitions. You can choose from a range of modules that introduce professional specialisms such as clinical and forensic psychology. You can choose from optional modules that introduce professional specialisms, such as clinical and forensic psychology, or offer the chance to study advanced topics in psychological science. You will also conduct a piece of original research under the supervision of a member of academic staff in your dissertation module.As a Psychology student, you will have access to our dedicated lab spaces. You will use our computer labs for research methods classes and our suite of research labs for collecting data. The research labs include:EEG lab - for recording electrical activity in the brainEye-tracking lab - for monitoring gaze patterns with static or mobile eye trackersVirtual reality (VR) equipmentObservation lab - including wall and ceiling-mounted camerasA large collection of psychometric tests and questionnaires.Our dedicated team of technicians will support you when working with equipment in the laboratories.We focus on developing your employability throughout your degree. In our second year module, Psychology in Practice, you will complete work experience in a field related to your ambitions.

To qualify for this programme you will need: High School Diploma plus SATS 3.0 GPA or higher and one of the following: 1180 in the SAT, or 2 APs with a 3 or higher, or at least 24 in the ACT. Foundation: High School Diploma plus SATS 2.6 GPA or higher and one of the following: 1100 in the SAT, or at least 20 in the ACT. IELTS 6.0 (with no less than 5.5 in each component), TOEFL iBT Overall score of 75 (Listening 17, Reading 18, Speaking 20, Writing 20), other forms of TOEFL are not acceptable.
