Studying A-Level Sociology will allow you to develop your knowledge and understanding of the society in which we live. Sociology is the study of modern societies. Sociologists are interested in social institutions, such as the family, the education system, religion and the role of the criminal justice system and how these affect us. In studying sociology, you will be able to identify the changes which have occurred in society over the last century. A-Level Sociology is a linear course: students will complete three exam papers at the end of their two years of study.

Paper 2 is assessed through a written exam lasting two hours, worth 33.3% of the A-Level.
Paper 3 covers Crime and Deviance, students will study:
Paper 3 is assessed through a written exam lasting two hours, worth 33.3% of the A-Level. The exam board is AQA, The majority of A-Level students will progress onto a Higher Education Degree at University.
