In this program, you will earn your degree from the College of Letters, Arts and Social Sciences and learn how decisions made by consumers, firms and governments about the use of resources – like time and money – affect people and businesses. You will study economic factors like supply and demand, inflation, international trade, unemployment and governmental policies.As an economics major, you will develop strong critical thinking, analytical and research skills. You will also build a solid foundation of knowledge of economic systems and regulation. You will be prepared for a variety of careers, spanning government administration, politics, business and economic research. This major is good preparation for graduate study in economics, law or business.

Para estudantes internacionais

Students must have 2.5 on a 4.0 GPA scale is required from secondary school. They must meet criteria for admission to university level study in home country. They should also satisfy the following English language requirements:

  • TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) minimum score of 525 on the paper test or 70 on the Internet-based test
  • IELTS (International English Language Testing System) minimum score of 6.0
  • Pearson (PTE) Academic score of 48
  • ELS Language Centers, pass of Level 112
  • Cambridge CAE (Certificate of Advanced English), pass
  • Cambridge CPE (Certificate of Proficiency in English), pass
  • Cambridge International "O" Levels, pass
  • English proficiency demonstration is waived for any applicant who has a previous degree at an accredited U.S. institution
