O que eu aprenderei?

Elementary educators set the stage for lifelong learning. This important responsibility demands an understanding of modern teaching methods and child development, as well as a broad knowledge in multiple subjects, from reading and writing, to science and math.In this program, you will learn to teach basic subject areas to diverse groups of children in Kindergarten through eighth grade. You will gain on-the job skills with three practicum experiences in an elementary classroom and one semester of student teaching under the supervision of experienced teachers.Teacher certification, a requirement for teaching in a public school, varies from state to state. Upon completion of the program, you will be eligible to take certification exams for the state in which you want to teach.

Requisitos de admissão

Para estudantes internacionais

Students must have 2.5 on a 4.0 GPA scale is required from secondary school. They must meet criteria for admission to university level study in home country. They should also satisfy the following English language requirements:

  • TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) minimum score of 525 on the paper test or 70 on the Internet-based test
  • IELTS (International English Language Testing System) minimum score of 6.0
  • Pearson (PTE) Academic score of 48
  • ELS Language Centers, pass of Level 112
  • Cambridge CAE (Certificate of Advanced English), pass
  • Cambridge CPE (Certificate of Proficiency in English), pass
  • Cambridge International "O" Levels, pass
  • English proficiency demonstration is waived for any applicant who has a previous degree at an accredited U.S. institution
