O que eu aprenderei?

The baccalaureate degree in nursing at California State University San Bernardino is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.

The prelicensure BSN program at CSUSB prepares the graduate to take the national RN licensure examination (NCLEX-RN) and begin professional nursing practice.

The baccalaureate degree in nursing also prepares graduates for advanced nursing education required to enter advanced practice nursing roles.

Two cohorts are admitted annually to the San Bernardino and Palm Desert campuses, Fall and Spring terms.

BSN Program Learning Outcomes

BSN graduates will:

Demonstrate competent practice and evidence-based care based on the foundations of biological, physical, social, and nursing sciences in caring for individuals, families, and communities.
Demonstrate competence in critical thinking and clinical reasoning skills in the practice of nursing.
Apply the nursing process to provide ethical, patient-centered, holistic, culturally sensitive, and precise care, health promotion, and disease and injury prevention to individuals, families, communities, and populations across the lifespan, including care of acute and chronic health conditions and during public health disasters.
Utilize various forms of communication, including oral, written, and technological applications for disseminating accurate patient information and plans of care in order to maximize safety and optimize health outcomes.
Demonstrate leadership as a professional nurse and collaborate in clinical practice within a multidisciplinary team to monitor outcomes, improve patient care, and apply and promote health policies and regulatory standards that advocate for comprehensive and safe delivery of healthcare.
Apply evidence as basis for practice, and support, facilitate and participate in research.
Assume the responsibility for knowledge acquisition of nursing science, excellence in clinical practice, nursing professional code of conduct and nursing values which serve as the basis for lifelong learning and professional development.

Requirements for admission to the BSN program are:

*Acceptance into CSUSB as a Pre-Nursing Student
*Completed, online pre-licensure BSN application per link
*Required Cumulative and Prerequisite GPA per official transcripts/PAWS

Overall Cumulative GPA of 3.5 or greater
The DON will accept credit/no-credit grades for prerequisite courses, but encourages applicants to receive letter grades for all prerequisite classes. If a Credit grade is received for a prerequisite course, this will be considered similar to an AP credit course which has no value in calculating GPA's.
A minimum GPA of 3.0 on Completed required prerequisite courses including at least 2 of the 4** prerequisite science courses AND at least 2 of the 4** prerequisite non-science courses, with a minimum grade of C required in every course. The prerequisite GPA is calculated using the first earned grade of each prerequisite.

*Requirements 1 to 6 above must be met for an application to be considered
** Post baccalaureate students only

TOEFL (iBT 61 or PBT 500) or IELTS (5.5 total band score)
