Students who complete this Pack Teach Program will earn two degrees: the Bachelor of Arts in Education/Secondary Education and the Bachelor of Arts in History. This program provides students with a broad background in history. Students who successfully complete the program are prepared to pursue secondary school teaching, graduate school, or an immediate career in the field of social studies.
History majors take courses in the history and culture of Nevada, the Inquisition, the Middle East, Ancient Rome, Venice, the Aztecs, tourism in Hawaii, the civil rights movement, the Civil War and so much more. Then they take courses specifically designed to help them become excellent educators.

To be admitted to an undergraduate degree program as a regular freshman student, you must be a graduate from an approved or accredited high school. You must have a 3.0 weighted GPA in the academic core courses in order to be admitted to the University of Nevada, Reno.
Students are exempt from taking the test if they meet one of the following conditions: TOEFL score of 100 (internet-based test) or higher, 600 (paper-based test) or higher; IELTS score of 8 or higher; Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic score of 80.
