O que eu aprenderei?

The Residential College in the Arts and Humanities (RCAH) is an innovative, residential, four-year degree for students who want to combine a small-college experience with the opportunities of a research university. RCAH is home to individuals with diverse interests, skills and talents who:

  • have a passion for civic engagement.
  • engage in literature, history, ethics, the visual and performing arts, world languages, and cultures.
  • chart their own path with ongoing advising and career support.
  • value individual expression, exploration, and achievement.

Students engage in experiential learning, focus critical attention on public issues, and build community within and beyond Snyder-Phillips Hall.

All of the following core courses (28 credits):

  • RCAH 111 Writing in Transcultural Contexts
  • RCAH 112 Writing, Research and Technologies
  • RCAH 150 Introduction to the Arts and Humanities
  • RCAH 202 The Presence of the Past
  • RCAH 203 Transcultural Relations through the Ages
  • RCAH 215 Introduction to Theory and Methods in the Arts
  • RCAH 225 Introduction to Community Engagement
  • RCAH 235 Introduction to Language and Culture Studies

If you attended a school that follows a U.S. curriculum, please use these guidelines. If you are currently in upper secondary school: Certified copy of transcripts for grades 9, 10, 11 and, if possible, latest available for 12. If you completed upper secondary school: Certified copy of transcripts for grades 9, 10, 11 and 12, indicating that a high school diploma has been awarded. MSU strongly encourages a college preparatory curriculum in high school. High school GPA is 3.5-4.0.

Minimum English requirements

Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): Internet-based test: score of 79 with no sub score below 17, Paper-based test: score of 550 with no sub score below 52, International English Language Testing System (IELTS) - Regular admission: Score of 6.5 or higher, Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE A) - Minimum score of 53; minimum sub score requirement of 48.
