The Bachelor of Arts in Special education offers students two concentration options:
Our Exceptional Student Education concentration prepares teacher candidates to work with children who have exceptionalities in K-12 educational settings.
The Disability Services concentration prepares candidates to work with individuals with exceptionalities in a variety of professional settings such as centers for independent living, employment agencies, and disability service agencies.
The Exceptional Student Education and Disability Services programs are designed to offer candidates quality experiences in a variety of clinical settings using a professional development school model (PDS) or a professional development institute model (PDI), depending on the concentration. Programs are designed to prepare future teachers and disability service professionals who work to enhance lives through advocacy, teaching, and service.
