O que eu aprenderei?

Students who major in International Studies become more knowledgeable, skilled and engaged global citizens, and emerge from the program prepared to pursue careers in a host of international fields. Students fulfill core internationally-oriented requirements and a focused, interdisciplinary curriculum, drawing primarily on coursework in Anthropology, Business, Economics, Urban Studies, English, Fine Arts, Geography, History, Philosophy, Political Science, Sociology, and Foreign Languages. Many also study abroad during their undergraduate careers, and most pursue an internship with an internationally-relevant organization of some kind. The Director of International Studies serves as students' key contact as they progress through the program, which is administered through the College of Liberal Arts, Education and Human Development (COLAEHD).

Tracks and Concentrations

In the International Studies Program, students choose one of the following as the focus of their studies: the International Business Track, a Thematic Concentration (including Diplomacy & International Organizations; Ethnicity, Nationalism & Migration; Environmental Issues & Policy; or Peace & Justice Studies) or a Regional Concentration (including Africana, Asian, European or Latin American & Caribbean Studies). Click on an option below to view more information about each of these options and its requirements.

Students who wish to combine a Thematic Concentration with in-depth knowledge of a specific part of the world may opt to do so by fulfilling the additional requirements for a Minor in a region. For example, an International Studies major who chooses a concentration in Peace & Justice Studies could also pursue a Minor in Latin American Studies as part of her or his degree.
