The Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics has five distinct concentrations so that students can select an appropriate pathway depending on their career goals. Each of the concentrations enables students to develop the following: the ability to construct mathematical proofs the ability to think analytically and critically, and to formulate problems, solve them and interpret their solutions the ability to utilize technology when doing mathematics and communicate mathematics in written and oral forms. The program prepares students to be competitive in the job market and/or to pursue graduate education. The Department of Mathematics offers a standard undergraduate major program in mathematics with concentrations in Actuarial Science, Applied Mathematics, Probability and Statistics, Pure Mathematics and Teaching Mathematics.
