Information Systems is the field that connects business and technology. Corporations are constantly seeking talents who are business minded and technically savvy. Information Systems is to analyze, design, develop, and manage business information systems for effective operations and decision making. A successful information system student must excel in both in-depth understanding of business context, and solid technical abilities.
It is important that you build a strong technical foundation through your course work. Business students are typically well trained in soft skills (such as communication and management) and business context (i.e., you understand Accounting, Finance, and business processes). These are wonderful skills to complement your technical skills, which is often the determining factor for you to land your first job.
