O que eu aprenderei?

The SIUE School of Pharmacy, the only pharmacy school in Southern Illinois, maintains a small cohort of 80 students. The students admitted each year form a tight-knit community, lending each other encouragement and support throughout the program.

The School offers a fully accredited, four-year Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) 2+4 program. This means that students must first complete the pre-pharmacy curriculum and then, if admitted, complete the four-year PharmD program.

Students learn from world-class faculty who are nationally recognized for their experience, innovations and leadership. The faculty is dedicated to preparing students to be pharmacy professionals, scholars and leaders who will improve the health and well-being of the region and beyond.

In the School’s state-of-the-art learning environment and facilities, faculty and students are involved in a variety of research projects to improve drug design and development, drug delivery, and disease therapy. They also conduct clinical research designed to directly improve patient care.

Specializations

For students interested in a specific area of pharmacy, specializations provide concentrated training and focus through designated didactic electives and advanced practice experience electives. Focus areas for pharmacy career opportunities could be developed into specializations. Examples may include leadership, research, education, geriatric care, or other areas of advanced practice.

Specialization status with the University allows for the specialization to be documented on the student's official transcript.
