O que eu aprenderei?

Change the future of education with a career in leadership, politics, and advocacy. You will explore educational politics and policy and the burgeoning role of educational organizations working with schools and communities, both nationally and internationally; learn to lead cross-sector; create collaborative networks; and engage in research and policy analysis.

With the combination of course work and internship experience in our master’s degree in Educational Leadership, Politics, and Advocacy, you’ll gain:

  • The ability to employ multiple approaches to inquiry, research, and analysis

This degree prepares you for roles including:

  • Program director
  • Career and internship coordinator
  • Manager of economic opportunity program
  • Director of admissions and recruitment
  • Development and communications director
  • Program or data analyst

Our graduates work in and lead child and community advocacy organizations; policy and research centers; private, charter, and independent schools; non-profits; and international NGOs. Others have gone on to pursue doctoral study.

Our graduates have directed programs in places such as Harlem Village Academies, several city and state Departments of Education including the NYC DOE, Annenberg Institute for School Reform, San Diego Youth Development Office, The Highlander Center, Brooklyn School for Music and Theater, Good Shepherd Services, Points of Light Foundation, Hunts Point Alliance for Children, Young Women’s Leadership Network, the After School Corporation, Year Up, and Posse Foundation.

You must have the equivalent of a four-year US bachelor's degree to be considered for admission.

If your native language is not English, you must submit results from one of the following English proficiency exams: TOEFL, IELTS, or PTE Academic.

Test of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TOEFL): Scores are valid for two years from the date taken. Successful candidates score a 100 on the Internet based exam or 600 on the paper based exam.

The International English Language Testing System (IELTS): Official scores are valid for two years from the date taken. Successful candidates achieve a band score of 7.

Pearson Test of English (PTE Academic): Official scores are valid for two years from the date taken. Successful candidates score a 68 to 70.
