This unique food business diploma program is designed for the individual who is interested in restaurant management or wants to oversee, grow, open or own a culinary business (restaurant, cafe, bar, catering business, food truck, etc. - the list goes on and on).

When you close your eyes, do you see yourself managing and building a food business - maybe even your own? The Institute of Culinary Educations diploma program in Restaurant & Culinary Management is focused on the business of food. Offered at both ICEs New York and Los Angeles campuses, the culinary management program provides practical training in restaurant management, operations and entrepreneurship to students focused on achieving and sustaining long-term success in the culinary industry.

We offer morning and afternoon schedule options, depending on which campus you choose.

Tuition and fees include all books and business plans so you're fully equipped from day one. Tuition also includes guest lectures and any scheduled field trips.

International documentation will be verified by an official, certified translation noting that the student has completed the equivalent of a secondary school in the US. Your Admissions Representative will be able to provide further details.

Prospective students must also demonstrate that they are currently or will be legally in the United States. As such, a copy of government-issued photo identification will be required at time of enrollment. A copy of an existing visa will be required for those international students not obtaining a student visa through ICE.

English language proficiency

The Institute of Culinary Education requires that its students be able to speak, read, write and understand English fluently.

  • Graduation from an English-speaking secondary institution (high school).
  • Evidence of having completed 12 semester hours or 18 quarter hours with at least a C (70%) average at an accredited postsecondary institution in which English was the language of instruction.
  • English Language School/ESL Programs: If you have attended an English language school or ESL program, you may provide documentation from the school proving that you have successfully completed the coursework that is equivalent to a score of 500 in the TOEFL exam.
  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of at least: 500 - paper version; 173 - computerized version; and 61 - internet-based version
  • International English Language Testing System (IELTS) score of at least 6.
  • Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) score of at least B2.
  • Duolingo English Test score of at least 95.
